Wanted Leader: Men or Women?

January 30, 2007

The Council of Women World Leaders is a network of current and former women presidents and prime ministers. The Council currently has 35 Members, which represents nearly all of the world’s current and former women world leaders. The Council and Ministerial Initiative create a global architecture for giving a collective voice to women at the highest levels of government. Their mission is to promote good governance and enhance the experience of democracy globally by increasing the number, effectiveness, and visibility of women world leaders. Mary Robinson, President of Ireland (1990-97) is Chair of the Council, and Secretary Madeleine Albright is Chair of our Women’s Ministerial Initiative.

–this issue here is from the "council of women world leaders". these women that are being mentioned in this issue has done a great part in this world, they have served several countries like Sweden,Norway,Finland,Iceland,Germany,Philippines,N.Zealand,Denmark,U.K,and Ireland.some of the women that are a member of this council were presidents, and prime ministers.and we all know that being a leader is not an easy and usual thing to be and to do especially to the part of the women. others might think that i am being bias because i’m also a girl.but it’s not that.i just think that women could also be good leaders because women think differently from men.i guess women are more open minded and more responsible and organized in handling things…its not easy to give-up and sacrifice your precious time and effort just to serve and do your responsibility for others especially for the part of the women who has so many things to do for herself, career and some for their family-and considering the many differences of each human being that is within the nation you are handling, just like the Philippines which has a great population.

But for these women, they take all these responsibilities seriously without any regrets.like us,they also know that this job is difficult but still they wanted to help and serve us…women are more sensitive in responding to the needs of the people and this is one great quality that leaders should have.

i’m not saying that men are loosers and that they don’t have these qualities because only few men have the capacity to be like this.especially now-a-days that vices as we all know are already part of the men’s life especially gambling, drinking, smoking and some might even take drugs and these things could ruin them and affect their responsibilty as leaders.compared to women that are very conscious with their physical looks and their health.

we all had experience that ones we have good health and we look good,we feel inspired to do the things we should do and finish them the right way.and this is very necessary in handling great responsibilities.

"Leadership can be thought of as a capacity to define oneself to others in a way that clarifies and expands a vision of the future."—Edwin H. Friedman

There are many things that I really like and important for me. Especially the things that interest me and the things that don’t make me feel bore and an example of this thing is the music player. Whenever I’m alone, one of the things that I can think of is the music player because it relaxes me and it does not give me boredom even if it’s just me. But the most valuable things for me, that I’m not comfortable without having them are my mobile phone, wallet and handkerchief.

My mobile phone is really valuable. Not only because it is expensive but also because it is useful especially when I’m far from home-my parents can easily communicate with me when they are worried (well, just imagine yourself having parents which are really particular with the things you do), incase of emergencies and also to keep myself busy and fun (as we all know this stuff is really the most important now-a-days). And to be with my friends wherever I go, other than that I can also do some stuffs with my mobile phone (games, pictures, sounds and etc.).

The next valuable thing for me is my wallet and of course with money inside. Wallet would really be useless if there’s none inside and you can’t buy things when you don’t have any money. And it would be very difficult if you go anywhere without bringing a money. So people…let’s not forget our wallet together with our money…especially when going out with peers.

And last but not the least is my handkerchief. I’m not really comfortable without having this because it’s one of the things that make me feel clean and neat. I wipe my oily face with my soft hanky…(yuck!i’m really having a problem with my oily face especially at the part of my nose)…and I can wipe all the dirt in my body with my hanky…yeeey, hehe…

So I guess each one of us has different opinion about our own valuable things so we just have to keep them and take good care of them especially for the things that are for good. And for the bad things…hmMmMm…never mind we’re all matured. More or less, we know the good things from bad things…

God speed!!!

wEeE…miraculous tuesday

January 16, 2007

oh God what a day!!! this is such a lucky day for me…its somehow a very important date of the month for me..ehem..

i feel so good because last morning,i was supposed to wake up at 7:15 am…but then my phone alarmed at 6am.there was a reminder,i thought it was really my alarm.so i turned it off and went back to sleep because it’s still 6.but suddenly when i woke up again i found out that it was almost 8 when my class will start at 9 so i hurriedly got up, ate my breakfast-thinking that i would be late for my 1st subject which is trigonometry-then i took a bath and dressed up…it was already 5minutes before my time when i departed for school.so i walked fast and arrived at school at 9:10.luckily when i went inside the room the teacher was not yet there so i was saved.and we have this assignment that i was not able to make because i don’t have a book.

our teacher returned our prelim examination and…yesss!!!i passed.then speaking of the assignment, our teacher announced that she will collect it next meeting so i was saved again.

we had a quiz on our major subject, though it wasn’t that good, it was still ok because majority in our class also failed!!!hahaha

this was a long but exciting and fun tuesday for me.because usually i hate mondays, tuesdays and thursdays…this is very unusual…thank God!!!emoticon

Why Presentation Skills is necessary for IT Professionals and Students?

People now-a-days are being interested and engaged to learn Information Technology due to the demand of the generation and because of the new high-technology environment that almost everything now are being worked out by gadgets.
Information Technology course right now is already very known to people because of computers and gadgets that they study. But this course actually, is not just about on computers itself but also in the performance of the programmer, called as the presentation skills, wherein this part of the course also plays an important role for IT professionals and students.
We have to adopt this because this part of the course helps us a lot in doing our job, organizing our reports, and make people think of good impressions towards us.
Presentation skills, helps us to be more professionals not only in the field of IT but also in other fields. It teaches us the techniques on how to have a good performance and at the same time enhances our self-confidence; especially in facing a crowd during reporting and proposals. In these cases, we have to be confident, professionals, and engaging to the eyes of the people, especially in front of the panelists, businessmen, and to our bosses to have a more successful career that ourselves and our company can be proud of. In presentation skills, our creativity is also being developed through the computer’s art, and it organizes the things we need to discuss for us to produce a presentable project and so that our discussion would have a smooth flow until the end. Basically, when we have an organized project, it makes the audience understand our work well and engage them in our project.
Through this generalization, I can say that presentation skills, is indeed a very important matter to learn and even to master. We might think that it is only a basic thing to know and study. But as it was mentioned previously skills in presenting does a lot in any field of profession, not only in IT but even in our everyday activity. It is not only in reporting, presenting and proposing that we use presentation skills, that’s why it should be our  habit and to adopt the skills, and somehow apply in simple ways for us to practice what we learn and to be learn in the subject, Presentation Skills. Respectively, we should think in the first place that all things starts from the basic and as we practice those basics, eventually, we succeed and produce a good output.

What to expect this 2007

January 12, 2007

what to expect on 2007???well…as what others usually do,they have their new year resolution to feel the ambiance of the new year.but for me,i seldom do that.i think you can do that anytime of the year…you can even do that everyday…and that’s my own perception.

so for me,all i’m expecting for this year is just a simple but memorable memories of 2007 together with my family and friends and it wouldn’t be exciting if there are no challenges-especially challenging works from school;from mr.barrios specifically…hehe…but even if it would be very challenging,we just have to enjoy it so not think of the pressures and stresses.and i expect from my self that i would exert more effort in doing my school works now to improve my grades especially in programming…and thinking that it is already midterm so we really have to gain better grades…

so i guess that’s all i can think of now…and my primary concern is on my studies, family, friends and lastly but not the least is myself…

HAPPY 2007 to ALL of US

Hey! I have learned new thing here in Presentation skills, and it is blogging. I know this thing is not new to other people and they might say that I’m ignorant to this, maybe they can say so, but for me, I think it’s just the fact that I just missed this thing in internets now. I’m proud that I have learned this and my fun in computer just got even better. And this blogging really interests me a lot. I swear this thing would really be a part of my leisure time other than editing my usual friendster and yahoo mails and whatsoever other things in there. And I just want to express my great appreciation to Mr. Exander Barrios, our Pres. Skills instructor for sharing this thing to us. This is just a cool thing to explore especially to the people who are new to this, like me.

This blog is really great! It is like a scrap book. You can just do your own thing in here. You can type on your daily experiences, put some pictures, speak your mind and express your feelings. And according to our instructor, you can even gain extra income in here. I’m glad to know that sir! Imagine, you are just having fun with this blogging and suddenly you can earn money right away! It’s just a great thing to do. I think I would really love this! (LOL).

Aaaaahhh…still need 62 words. I have to consume the required 300 words for this post. Sir, what else can I say to have 300 words in here? I just ran out of English because of this task that Mr. Exander gave us.

Almost done! What else? Help me people. I’m having a hard time looking out for something else to say.

At last, after “48 years”; as what other expresses…I’m done with the 300 words so I have to go now. I’m already experiencing RWI or repetitive wrist injury. Take note! I have learned that from our fundamentals last sem! Bye for now! God bless us all.
